I gradually came to feel that I would rather be run over by a truck than kill people at the wheel of a car - Nadezhda Mandelstam

between a shitty rock and a shitty hard place

Outside of many great blogs like Andrew Sullivan's, Enter Stage Right, and the dead-on satirical geniuses from South Park, it seems identifying onesself as conservative is fraught with difficulty. I can, and am in fact glad to, be in disagreement with the left on most issues, especially their softness on terrorism and their PC bus that threatens to drive America right to the precipice. But must I be such a voice in the wilderness on what not only I see as conservative, civil libertarian positions? Of course in some ways I was glad to see the Dems get the whipping they deserved in the last elections, but now once again it's an endless stream of GOP attacks on reproductive choice, reasonable immigration, and their favorite bete noir, gays. Where is the support for the military, the increased funding of our necessary war, and the stand for freedom that makes people concerned about their country look towards the right for help? Instead dead horses get beaten. Such frivolity ALMOST makes the Dems look good!
